Amazon.com dramatically expanding its distribution footprint in Georgia

05 Apr 2017

The Atlanta Business Chronicle is reporting that internet retailer/technology company Amazon.com is again expanding its distribution facilities in north Georgia.

The company already occupies a 600,000-square-foot facility near Braselton, northeast of Atlanta. The Business Chronicle reports the company is leasing an additional 822,000 square feet of new space in that area at the Jefferson Mill Business Park developed by Trammel Crowe and Clarion Partners in Jefferson, Ga.

Amazon.com has been using its space in Georgia for fulfillment of orders for larger products, such as home decorating items, garden tools and sports equipment.

Amazon operates about 100 fulfillment centers nationally and has expanded rapidly in the South in recent years.
