Atlanta Business Chronicle Publishes Blog Post on Sustainability by Lincoln’s Shane Froman and Jeff Clayton
The Atlanta Business Chronicle’s Real Talk blog published this morning an op-ed by Jeff Clayton and Shane Froman on the need to reduce the carbon footprint of commercial buildings. Clayton is director of engineering for the Atlanta office of Lincoln Property Company Southeast, and Froman is vice president of management services in the Atlanta office.

Make no mistake: our industry has made meaningful strides in addressing the voracious energy consumption of commercial properties. Environmentalism may have once been considered a fringe issue, but it has now largely gone mainstream. Seemingly every time you pick up the paper – or more likely your tablet or smartphone – you read about another facility achieving LEED or Energy Star certification. Retailers such as Walmart and Target have ambitious sustainability programs.
Still, this is no time for building owners and operators to rest on their laurels.
