Cushman & Wakefield to Join Lincoln Property Co. Southeast in Leasing 55 Allen Plaza
The Atlanta office of Cushman & Wakefield will join Lincoln Property Co. Southeast in co-marketing and leasing 55 Allen Plaza, a 350,000-square-foot, Class-A office tower in downtown Atlanta. Cushman & Wakefield is a longtime tenant of the building, which Lincoln Property Company Southeast has managed and leased since purchasing it on behalf of a pension fund client in 2011.
“We are very excited about this partnership,” said Tony Bartlett, senior vice president of Lincoln Property Co. Southeast. “As a longtime tenant of 55 Allen Plaza, the Cushman team has first-hand knowledge of all that this outstanding building has to offer, and they will join with us to continue to attract first-class tenants and create even more value for the asset.”
“At Cushman & Wakefield, we are firmly committed to a vibrant downtown Atlanta, and that’s one of the many reasons we have our offices in 55 Allen Plaza,” said John O’Neill, Atlanta market leader for Cushman & Wakefield. “Lincoln Property Company has positioned this building for success, and we look forward to assisting the firm in leasing the remaining 70,000 square feet to high-quality users.”
Andy Sumlin, a Cushman & Wakefield agent who will join Lincoln Property Co. Southeast’s Leigh Braswell and Sabrina Altenbach on the 55 Allen Plaza leasing team, oversaw the leasing of the building several years ago while at Barry Real Estate Cos. “This is like a homecoming for me,” Sumlin said.
The Cushman-Lincoln partnership at 55 Allen Plaza comes amidst a recent flurry of news from the property. The building recently achieved LEED Gold certification.
Also, The Bread Box, a café that will serve breakfast, lunch and Starbucks coffee and also feature fresh-baked bread, will open in the building in October. Carlyle’s Catering, a well-known Atlanta-based firm, will operate the café.
Finally, Lincoln Property Co. Southeast is overseeing the construction of three spec suites totaling 8,600 square feet. The suites are slated for completion by the end of the year and will offer clients space that is move-in ready, Braswell said.
Overlooking the Downtown Connector on downtown Atlanta’s northern edge, 55 Allen Plaza provides tenants with easy access to all of Atlanta’s sub-markets, and, as part of the Allen Plaza mixed-use development, the building is surrounded by amenities including restaurants, the W-Atlanta Downtown Hotel & Residences, retail and Centennial Olympic Park.
Prominent tenants in the building, which was opened in 2007, also include Ernst & Young, Skanska and the design firm ASD.
